Metal Element Qi & Our Conduct

ree

Here we are…

Fully immersed in the season of the Metal Element.

Metal cuts.

Through its ability to slice through the bullshi*t, cutting away what no longer serves, we find our lives reformed.

Our days take on a new shape.

We have moved into a new world.

This world is marked by a precision, a cleaner quality of devotion, and a crisp reverence to the higher good we have felt emerging all year long.

We feel this through the current astrological events that bathe us in their cosmic Qi.

We feel this through the holy-days we celebrate at this time of the year. Our cultural traditions and myths are meant to bring us deeper into the appropriate, aligned Qi of now.

L’Shana Tova.

And together we birth a new path forward.

The Metal Element flows through two of our organ and meridian systems:

The Lungs

The Large Intestine

The Lungs represent the way in.

We open and receive our breath.

We take in a refined, subtle inspiration from above.

The Large Intestine represents the way out.

We open and release what we no longer need.

We purge ourselves of what has become too dense now to carry.

The color of this season is white - a purity that marks connection to the higher realms, and also an absence of the messiness of living. Like how the sun’s rays of light bleach the color out of what’s left in their path.

There is a finality here.

A terminal maturity has been reached.

There is a paring down.

There is a release of dead weight.

Here we EDIT.

Today we moved into the Qi Node of Autumn Equinox.

We shift our spiritual practice inside, out of the wind, and we do it near sunset because this is when the Qi of the day most supports us in it.

We eat the food that has taken the longest to grow because it’s what most nourishes our Qi (energy) and Jing (essence), and we no longer eat in the late evening.

We begin to sleep longer.

These are measures of CONDUCT.

Our conduct is what carries us into each phase of the year’s Qi either in or out of alignment with the earth, the external (atmospheric, cosmic, astrological, celestial) weather patterns, and our internal (emotional, physical, energetic) weather patterns.

I am growing a community of women who want to live embodied in harmony with the Qi of the Year.
